[Did someone else... disappear?]
.... [A little unsure if punching open holes was such a good idea, if it even actually was possible. But at the same time, he's had just about enough of this too.]
.... n.. nothing.
[Goes back sulky quiet.]
Much as I agree with the sentiment, that might not be such a good idea. The fabric of spacetime in this place is already in tatters, there's no telling what trying to punch through it would do. If you want to find this... next door, I'll do everything I can to help you locate it, but don't try anything that could get us all dropped into hyperspace.
This is a castle with floors... I'm just going to make a new door to the next floor.
The way reality is being distorted in here... that just isn't a good idea. Any kind of magic with enough power to break through to the floor above is going to tear at something that's already shredded. At this point, even physical force is a bad idea. I don't like it any more than you do, but this isn't the time to blow your top and tear the place apart. If you do, you could kill us all and destroy a sizable chunk of local space as well, causing untold death and destruction to anything close enough to be caught in the dimension quake. I don't know what's done this to you, but please listen to reason.
What the hell are you talking about? I've been here a damn long time and no one knows what the hell will happen, how the hell can you?
I'm what you'd call a specialist. Where I come from, I work for an organization called the Time Space Administration Bureau, and this is exactly the kind of situation we deal with. Our most recent case involved someone cutting loose with magic that threatened to do exactly what I just described - and that was on a stable world. Just... be careful.
Whatever. Just keep out of my way!
I can't do that. Not with what's at stake here. If you won't listen to reason, then I'm going to have to stop you.
Maybe. Maybe not. But I have to try. Do you want all those innocent lives on your hands if what you plan to do fails? Is that the kind of thing a good ruler does?
[By this point, Laharl has probably dropped his journal, probably not having even really listened to a word of Chrono's last message.]
[Oh dear... she knows that tone of voice]
How about not?
Tch. I'm trying this whether you people like it or not.
Look, if you want to get to the top, fine by me, but how about not killing you-- us, while you're at it.
Who the hell knows what trying to blow up a floor is going to do!
I'm not going to kill anyone! I'm making a hole, not blowing up the entire floor.
Like I said, no one knows how this is gonna end with!
Just-- calm down, geez.
No. I'm NOT "calming down"!
Urgh, stop acting like a little brat!
How is this acting like a brat?! I'm just doing what I should have done a LONG time ago. |
